NFR Apprentice Recruitment 2026

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has released the Centralized Notification for Engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. A total of 6,777 apprenticeship training slots are available across various divisions, workshops and units of Northeast Frontier Railway.

Candidates having Matriculation (10th Pass) along with ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade can apply online. Selection will be based purely on academic merit without any written examination.

As per the official schedule, online applications will begin on 20 July 2026 and continue until 19 August 2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • Passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with minimum 50% marks.
  • ITI Certificate in the relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from the 50% minimum marks requirement in Matriculation.
  • Medical Laboratory Technician trades require 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 15 Years
  • Maximum Age: 24 Years

Age relaxation:

  • SC/ST: 5 Years
  • OBC: 3 Years
  • PwBD: 10 Years
  • Ex-Servicemen: As per Government rules.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on:

  • Merit prepared using average percentage of marks in Matriculation and ITI.
  • Document Verification.
  • Medical Fitness.

No written examination or interview will be conducted.

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS: ₹100
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Women/EBC: No Fee

Monthly Stipend

Selected apprentices will receive stipend as per Apprenticeship Rules.

Current minimum stipend:

  • ₹9,600 per month
  • Higher stipend for candidates eligible for second and third year exemptions.
